Do Pitt freshmen have to live on campus?
Pittsburg State University has a Campus Residency Policy that requires all first-year students to live in a university residence hall during their first two academic semesters. Not only does this help you better enjoy all that your university has to offer; it also helps you in the classroom.

Where do sophomores live at Pitt?
Most first-year students live in Towers, a central location within a seven-minute walk of any academic building. Upperclassman dorms are located farther out, but even Panther Hall is within a 15-minute walk of Frick Fine Arts, the most distant academic building on campus.
Is laundry free at Pitt?
All University housing buildings have washers and dryers that operate with Panther Funds stored on your Panther Card. Students using Panther Funds will be charged $1.00 per load of laundry. Students living in Fraternities will have access to coin operated machines and will pay $1.25 per load.
Does Pitt have communal showers?
Each floor also contains a communal showering space, and while showering and brushing your teeth with other people can be absolutely dreadful, the quality of the bathrooms makes it very tolerable. As for the dorms, students get the option of living in a double or a triple room, all of which are pretty spacious.
How does housing work at Pitt?
To receive guaranteed on-campus housing, students must pay their $300 enrollment fee and $325 housing deposit by the respective deadlines. The enrollment fee must be paid by May 1st, and the housing deposit deadline is printed on their housing contract. Learn more about the housing process for first-year students.
Does Pitt have guaranteed housing?
Who has a housing guarantee? First-year fall-term students admitted through the Office of Admissions and Financial Aid are guaranteed on-campus housing. This guarantee is good for three consecutive years if a student meets housing application and deposit deadlines in subsequent years.

Does Heinz Field take Panther funds?
Panther Funds allow for greater spending flexibility. They can be used at on-campus dining or retail locations (from the laundry machines to Heinz Field) and are also accepted at off-campus locations for food and more. When was Panther Hall built?
Panther Hall was a live music performance hall at the intersection of East Lancaster and Collard in Fort Worth. The establishment was opened in 1963 by Bill and Corky Kuykendall as a bowling stadium.
Is Pitt housing deposit refundable?
Payments can also be made at Panther Central by check or money order made payable to the University of Pittsburgh. The Housing Deposit is non-refundable except as provided in sections 9 and 10 below. The Housing Deposit will be applied toward spring term room charges.
