Is UCSD open during winter break?
During the holiday season, the UC San Diego Campus (excluding the hospitals and clinics) will officially be closed Thursday, December 23, 2021 through Sunday, January 2, 2022.
Are UCSD dorms open?
Yes. On-campus housing communities and dining facilities will remain open with enhanced precautionary measures to help protect the health and well-being of students, faculty and staff.
Does UCSD have a curfew?
3.2. The curfew for the San Diego campus is between the hours of midnight to 6:00 a.m. 4.1.
Can you have guests in your dorm UCSD?
Guest Visitation: All guests need to be approved by all roommates or apartment mates of a particular residence. Overnight guest are not allowed to stay longer than three consecutive days and no resident may have overnight guests more than six nights in any quarter.

Is UCSD winter 2022 online?
The Senate authorized the use of remote instruction for all of Winter 2022. A limited-term exception to the Policy on Distance Education Courses was granted to allow for remote instruction without Senate approval of an “R” course, as needed.
Is UCSD campus open to the public?
Invited guests must: Complete a daily symptom and exposure screening (can be through your own employer). Must be fully vaccinated (or approved exception/deferral for UC employees). Adhere to all campus COVID-19 safety requirements, including the face covering policy.

Masking is currently optional for all students, faculty and staff while outdoors on campus. Attendees at outdoor campus events must wear a face mask if required by the event organizer.

Is UCSD a dry campus? No. UC San Diego has five facilities which serve alcohol.
Does UCSD allow mini fridges?
Can I bring a refrigerator or microwave? Yes, one small refrigerator is allowed in each room. It must be smaller than five cubic feet and have a safe UL-approved electrical system. Microwaves may also be brought.
Can I have a pet at UCSD?
SIO’s policy on dogs is consistent with UCSD regulations, which allow dogs on campus and in buildings, but never in classrooms or labs. Non-‐service dogs may be kept in an individual’s office without restraint so long as the owner is confident that the dog will not leave the office or disturb others.
Can I bring my boyfriend into my dorm?
Typically, the short answer will be no. Many colleges allow visitors to stay overnight and even for multiple nights. However, most campuses do not allow visitors to move into dorm rooms, regardless of gender.
Do UCSD dorms have air conditioning?
The Housing units do not include air conditioning. We rely on the mild temperature of La Jolla and our proximity to the ocean breeze to keep our units comfortable. Units have heating in the common areas and individual wall heaters. Please don’t confuse turning on your heater for air conditioning!

Can you stay on campus during winter break UCSC?
The period of residence between winter and spring quarters is covered by the housing contract, and students who wish to remain on campus are encouraged to do so. Although there is no additional fee, students may be required to submit a request to remain in residence during the break period.
Does UCSD get spring break?
Final Exams starts on Saturday, June 4– Friday, June 10, 2022. Spring Quarter 2022 ends on Friday, June 10 (Spring break).
What is a passing grade at UCSD?
Departments may require that courses applied toward the major be taken on a letter-grade basis. Selection of this option must take place within the first four weeks of the course. A grade of Pass shall be awarded only for work that otherwise would receive a grade of C– or better.
Can I walk around UCSD campus?
We will be unable to accommodate walk-on guests not included in your registration however, they are able to explore campus on their own with our Self-Guided tour.
