“Co-ed housing,” where male and female students share the same floor, has long been part of the college dorm experience. But now some schools are letting men and women live together in the same dorm room.

It depends on the room type. There are singles, double rooms (two students), triples and even some quads (four to a room or suite).

Are guests allowed in dorms Umich?

Residents are responsible for the behavior of their guests and must inform them of University Housing policies. It is expected that roommates discuss their preferences with respect to all visitation in the room/apartment. Visitation of one roommate should not infringe on the rights of other roommates.

Incoming students will not be selecting their own space. Students will indicate their housing preferences, which include bathroom style and chosen roommate if applicable, in the spring and be assigned a room in summer 2022.
