Should you need to make changes to your application after submitted, call the CUNY Welcome Center at 212-997-2869. You can click on each individual college to which you have applied to check if supporting documentation is required (see below) and view offers of admission.

Why do colleges ask if you have applied before?

Can you commit to two colleges?
Double depositing means putting down a deposit, and thus accepting admission, at more than one college. Since a student can’t attend multiple colleges, it is considered unethical.
Can you find out why you were rejected from a college?
Most institutions keep applications for one year. So, admissions officers can see the original denied application if the applicant reapplies the following semester. The general consensus is that a student should attend another college and apply as a transferee to one’s dream school after a year.
What if my recommendation letter is late?
Email the faculty member and explain that the graduate program contacted you because your application is incomplete as they have not received all of your recommendation letters. Most faculty will immediately apologize, perhaps say that they forgot, and promptly send it.
Can I submit my application before my recommendations grad school?
Most academic programs understand that the submission of recommendation letters may be beyond your control and that some may arrive later than others. You do not need to wait for all your recommendation letters to be submitted before submitting your application.
Can letters of recommendation be sent after application deadline graduate school?
Graduate programs understand that, if an applicant applies shortly before the deadline, a recommender may not be able to get their recommendation in before the deadline passes. However, graduate programs will expect letters of recommendation to arrive shortly after the application has been submitted.

Most colleges, though, will document when the student submitted the application – date and even the time. Be aware that they will know if you submitted the application at 11:59 pm on the deadline.
Do universities know if you applied before?
Universities will only know where else you’ve applied once they’ve made their decision and you’ve decided whether or not to accept them as your firm or insurance choice. But even then it won’t affect things.
