Library buildings & collections Most U of T libraries are open to the public. To borrow books, you will need a U of T library card. Robarts Library’s book stacks (floors 9-13) are closed to the public unless you have a U of T library card.
Who can use Robarts Library?
Normally, Robarts library is open 24 hours a day from Sunday night to Thursday evening during Fall & Winter terms. The service is open to all UofT students, staffs and faculty with a valid TCard. Check webpages below to learn about service availability.
Can alumni go to Robarts?
As of May 2, 2022, alumni with paid-for library privileges can make in-person use of Robarts Library and Gerstein SIC.
Do you need a TCard to enter Robarts?
The TCard is the identification for academic purposes, and includes your photo, UTORid, student number, and a barcode. It is required to enter libraries such as Robarts and Gerstein.

Is U of A library open to public?

We’re open to all University students, faculty, and staff, including the public. The Main Library, Weaver Science-Engineering Library, and Health Sciences Library are open to all University users, including the public.
Can anyone use the U of T library?
The University of Toronto allows public access to all of its libraries except for the Robarts Library. Undergraduate students, faculty and staff do not have borrowing privileges, but can use physical materials while on site.
Can UOFT alumni borrow books?
U of T students, staff, and faculty members use their TCards to borrow books. Alumni and external researchers can purchase library cards to borrow books.
Can Ryerson alumni use the library?
Can I use the Toronto Metropolitan University Library and Archives after I graduate? Alumni can access the print collections for an annual fee of $50. Please visit the Circulation Desk on the 2nd floor and self identify as Alumni.
How do you get into Robarts Commons?
The Common building has a separate entrance at the corner of Huron and Hoskin on the west side of Robarts Library. The Common is also accessible through hallways connecting the extension to the main Robarts building on floors 2–5, including a direct connection to the food court on the second floor.
Are Robarts stacks open?
Robarts stacks are open as of May 2, 2022 to alumni & external researchers with paid library cards. Current U of T students, faculty, and staff may access the Robarts Library book stacks with a valid University of Toronto TCard.
How do I book a Robarts Library?

Bookable rooms include group study rooms in the new Robarts Common wing, which can be booked via the booking button. Booking policies and codes of conduct are viewable when you log into the booking system.
Where are the bathrooms in Robarts?
Washrooms are located on the fourth floor outside the Archives Reading Room. An accessible, all-gender washroom is located on the first floor of Robarts Library, room 1013, near the left-side Information Commons.

Is the University of Michigan library open to the public?
Most library facilities are open to the general public during regular hours. Any library open after midnight is accessible to only U-M students, faculty, and staff with valid Mcards.

Can Ryerson alumni use the online library?
Alumni borrowers may borrow up to 10 books at one time, but may not borrow periodicals, audio-visual items or reserve items. have access to open access resources at library computer workstations. do not have access to the library electronic resources due to licensing restrictions established by the database providers.
