Do you have to stay on campus at Georgia Tech?
While the majority of first-year students live on campus, it is not required. See the First-Year Experience page for information about the First-Year Experience program.
Are gates free at Georgia Tech?
Most services rendered at Stamps Health Services are at no additional charge. However, some lab tests, specialty clinic visits and prescriptions have an additional charge. Please check with our staff if you have questions about the cost of your care. Payment for service is due at time of service.
Can you have a car on campus at Georgia Tech?
Yes, all freshmen are eligible to park on campus with a valid Georgia Tech parking permit. Freshmen students may purchase permits at driverseat.gatech.edu or in the PTS office once they have a GTID and campus username/password.
Is Georgia Tech a pretty campus?
Georgia Tech is an extremely scenic school in Atlanta’s urban core. The green spaces, classic buildings, and fountains are absolutely lovely. It is also very close to Centennial Olympic Park, home to Atlanta’s top museums. I highly recommend visiting when you are in town.
Does Georgia Tech have a curfew?
No curfew! No rules! Going to college and moving into a dorm room at Georgia Tech provides you with the opportunity to be free and live independently. If you want to wake up at noon every day and eat ice cream for all of your meals, no one is going to stop you.

Our traditional halls are reserved for freshman housing. There are three types of traditional-style housing: two-, three-, and four-person rooms. Two-person rooms feature one room with two occupants and community restrooms. Three-person rooms feature an oversized room with three occupants and community restrooms.
