“Demonstrated interest” is not a factor in our application review process. Things like visiting campus, attending a virtual session, or talking with or emailing your admission counselor have no impact on the evaluation of your application.

Does Georgia track demonstrated interest?

Does UGA track demonstrated interest? The University of Georgia DOES NOT consider demonstrated interest in our review process, as all applicants do not have the same resources to travel to campus, attend events, etc.

Is it easier to get into Oxford than Emory? Nope, some students who apply to both campuses are denied at Oxford and admitted to Emory College and vice versa.

Does Vanderbilt track demonstrated interest?

Vanderbilt University does not consider “demonstrated interest” in the admissions process.

Does UNC Chapel Hill track demonstrated interest?

UNC-Chapel Hill also does not consider “demonstrated interest” so you will not be judged on whether or not you made a campus visit, contacted an admissions officer, etc.

Does Emory consider legacy?

What constitutes legacy status? In the admission-review process, “legacy” status is for applicants whose immediate relatives have graduated or are currently enrolled in an academic division of Emory University. This includes grandparents, parents, and siblings.

What does Emory look for in applicants?

We typically look for students who’ve taken more challenging classes (which can vary from high school to high school, and we take that into account, too) and have done well in them. We also look at standardized test scores if you choose to submit them. Low scores can be overcome by good grades in higher-level classes.

Does Johns Hopkins consider demonstrated interest?

Selective schools like Hopkins claim to not care about interest but I am clearly very skeptical of this claim. At the very least it’s a subconscious boost when an admissions officer sees something related to the college that they so adore on your application.

No. Your completed application is all the demonstrated interest we need. We don’t track visits, communications, college fairs, or web events to enhance or detract from anyone’s application. That said, we do think it is a good idea to develop a strong sense of whether or not Dartmouth is a good match for you.

Does Duke care about demonstrated interest?

Duke does consider “demonstrated interest” so it is important to make contact with the admissions office, connect through social media, and (when COVID-19 is no longer an issue) visit campus or meet Duke reps at college fairs near you.
