How Does Usc Housing Lottery Work?

General Lottery participants choose their housing assignment, bring in roommates, and contract for their space on the Housing portal. To comply with the Sophomore Guarantee, enough housing spaces will be allotted to ensure that every sophomore applicant can be assigned during the Sophomore Lottery.

Is Uofsc housing first come first serve?

Housing assignments for new freshmen and graduate students as well as transferring undergraduates are made on a first-come, first-served basis. After class standing, the single most important factor in determining if and where you will be assigned is the date we receive your application.

Is housing at USC guaranteed?

Although you have the option to go on and select roommates, once you pay the application fee your application is complete and you are eligible for assignment. When you have been assigned, we will notify you by e-mail and direct you back to the online application to confirm your contract.

How many years of housing does USC guarantee?

Guaranteeing four years of on-campus housing does not mean USC will have to build enough buildings to house every undergraduate student enrolled. Inevitably, some local students will choose to commute from home and others will choose to live in surrounding off-campus housing.

Where do upperclassmen live at USC?

Although most housing directly on campus is reserved for our incoming freshman class, we offer 35 housing facilities for upperclassmen and graduate students in the adjacent North University Park neighborhood. Does USC require you to live on campus?

USC freshmen are not required to live on campus, but most do! USC primarily offers residence halls and suite-style housing for freshmen, but they also reserve some spots in two apartment buildings on campus. It is common for students to make close friends through their first-year housing assignment.

Where do sophomores live at USC?

Although the new colleges in the University Village are mostly open to freshmen, there are a handful of sophomores who also live there. Everything besides these are reserved mostly for upperclassmen and a popular choice would be Cardinal Gardens and Webb Tower (sick view of downtown if you’re on the 15th floor!)

How do you pay for USC housing?

The option to pay by month is available through USC’s Tuition Payment Plan. This plan allows students to settle all or just part of their fee bill obligation (not just Housing rent payments), one semester/term at a time, through a series of monthly payments established with the USC Student Financial Services Office.
