How Much Homework Do Mit Students Have?

The answer varies wildly among students. On average, the time spent on work per week is between 23 to 34 hours (source). In this post, I’ll describe my (also wildly oscillating) weekly routine.

How many hours a day do MIT students study?

A typical course would have class 3–5 hours a week, meaning you’ll spend about 16 hours in class when you don’t have a lab, and perhaps 20 when you do. Time spent outside of class can vary widely, but over my 4 years at MIT I was logging 40–60 hours depending on the time of semester.

Do students have fun at MIT?

Overall, MIT is special for the way everyone is passionate about something and has fun in their own way. For some people, that’s dungeons and dragons, but for me, it’s extracurriculars, hanging out with friends, exploring the city, and exercise. To some extent, yes, very much.

Is MIT stressful?
