How does Pitt meal plan work?

Memberships are lifestyle plans, you do not technically need to check a balance of meals. Depending on which option you selected, you will either have unlimited meals, or two to one meal(s) a day to use. To check your balance of Dining Dollars go to the Panther Central portal on My.Pitt.edu.

How do I get meal plan at Pitt?

Students who are not required to purchase a Membership can sign up by :

  1. Go to my.pitt.edu.
  2. Search for Panther Central.
  3. Click on 2021-2022 Housing Information and Applications.
  4. If directed to PittPay, choose Make Deposit, then click Continue.
  5. Select the Meal Membership you wish to purchase.

Are dining dollars per semester Pitt?

*Students are only able to add Additional Dining Dollars up to three times per semester.

What is meal exchange at Pitt?

Meal Exchange allows you to use a meal at any on-campus retail location. Meal Exchanges are limited to one per day (except the Foodie Membership, which allows for two). For Lifestyle Memberships, Meal Exchange is not in addition to available meals per day but can be used in place of eating at residential dining halls.

Does Upitt have good food?

The food in our major dining halls is actually decent and there are a ton of options, even for vegetarians like me. The main dining hall is also really good about accommodating special dietary needs – there are vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, kosher, and halal options.

They can be used at on-campus dining or retail locations (from the laundry machines to Heinz Field) and are also accepted at off-campus locations for food and more. Add Panther Funds online or via the Transact eAccounts app on your Apple or Android device.

How do meal plans work?

Essentially, a meal plan is pre-paid account for your on-campus meals. At the start of the term, you pay for all the meals you’ll eat in the dining halls. You’ll then swipe your student ID or a special meal card every time you enter a dining area, and the value of your meal will be deducted from your account.

What can dining dollars be used for?

Dining Dollars can be used for purchasing food items at all Campus Dining restaurants, food trucks and markets, including Subway, Shake Smart and Starbucks. They cannot be used for gratuities or to purchase gift cards, clothing, school supplies, mugs, coffee makers and similar non-food merchandise.
