Is UConn a dry campus?
According to the UConn’s Office of Governmental Relations, there are 32 dormitories on the Storrs campus that are completely dry. The total capacity of these dormitories is 3,289. In addition, UConn sets aside one floor in Brock Hall and one in MacMahon Hall as substance free floors.
Can I choose my roommate at UConn?
Students can only match with roommates who are accepted into the same Learning Community. Rooms in Learning Community Selections are designated for continuing students and are set per our collaboration with First Year Programs and how the Learning Community directors would like the floor(s) structured.
Is laundry free at UConn?
There’s no longer an excuse for bringing laundry home to mom and dad: doing laundry is now free for all students living on the Storrs campus. Since at least 1960, UConn had outsourced its laundry services to a private company. Students were charged $1.25 for every load of laundry they did and another $1.25 for drying.
