How does pass/fail work at RIT?
The faculty member will submit a normal letter grade for the final grade. If the letter grade submitted is a D or better, the student’s transcript will show a grade of “P”. The “P” grade carries no quality points and will not have an effect on the calculation of GPA.
Is 67 a passing score?
C – this is a grade that rests right in the middle. C is anywhere between 70% and 79% D – this is still a passing grade, and it’s between 59% and 69% F – this is a failing grade.

What is a passing grade?
In fact, a “D” is considered passing in both high school and college, as it’s above 60%. While a passing grade may be as low as 60%, you will want to aim higher for many reasons. As a college student, you don’t want to aim to barely pass a class.

Is it OK to fail a college class?
