Is a 93 an A minus?
While professors control where each plus or minus cut off begins, a typical grading scale, the one I will use throughout this article, follows this pattern: A = 100-93, A- = 92.9-90, B+ = 89.9-87, B = 86.9-83 and so on.

A – is the highest grade you can receive on an assignment, and it’s between 90% and 100% B – is still a pretty good grade! This is an above-average score, between 80% and 89%

For conversion from letter grades to numerical grades, I use the middle of the numerical range above. Thus, an A is a 95, halfway between 90 and 95. An A- is a 91.25, halfway between 90 and 92.5. Etc.

However, at least 5 points must be earned in the second semester (Jan. -June) to pass. This is how it is calculated: Whatever you earn in Grading Period 1,2,3,4 is doubled.
