How long does it take TMDSAS to process?
2-4 weeks
After you submit your application, TMDSAS will process and transmit your application to the schools you have selected on your application. It normally takes 2-4 weeks for applications to be processed. You will receive an email when your application has been processed and transmitted to the schools to which you applied.
What to do after submitting TMDSAS?
Dental. Secondary applications should be completed as soon as you submit your TMDSAS application. Any questions related to a secondary application should be directed to the respective school. Any secondary application required documents and/or fees should be sent directly to the school and NOT to TMDSAS.

You can submit your application before TMDSAS has received your letters of evaluation. Your letters will be added to your application as they are received and they will not cause a delay to your application processing time. Letters should not be sent to TMDSAS until after the application opens.
What happens on TMDSAS match day?
Essentially, the TMDSAS Match is conducted to confirm the pre-match offers that some applicants may be holding and fill the remaining open slots for the medical schools. Applicants that have not received pre-match offers can still match to a school where they have interviewed.

Is June too late for MCAT?
If you’re okay with submitting your application before knowing your score, then late June/early July is okay. Taking it any later than that may delay your consideration by your schools, which is detrimental in a process where there are a limited number of interviews and seats.

The best time to apply to medical school is in June or July. August and September are considered late in the cycle. But with a strong application, you can still be accepted when applying late.
Is July MCAT too late?
We recommend taking the MCAT as early as possible but for the best chances waiting no longer than late July. That way your application is still complete by the end of August as the application pool gets more dense, and thus more competitive, going into the fall.
Do all Texas medical schools use TMDSAS?
At this point, all Texas medical schools are state-supported except for two private schools, Baylor University and University of Incarnate Word Osteopathic Medical School. The legislation only affects the publicly supported schools. So both of these schools do not participate in the TMDSAS.
