The Ultra-Trail du Mont-Blanc has been canceled for 2020 because of the coronavirus. Runners will have the option to defer to the 2021, ’22, or ’23 races.

Will UTMB 2021 go ahead?

The 2021 UTMB® Mont-Blanc will take place from August 23 to 29 and will include all 7 races: UTMB® (170km 10 000m D+), CCC® (101km 6100m D+), TDS® (145km 9100m D+), OCC (56km 3500m D+), PTL® (300km 25 000m D+), MCC (40km 2300m D+) and YCC (15km 1200m D+).

Is UTMB going ahead?

The wait is over! The next edition of the Sommet Mondial du Trail Running will include the PTL®, TDS®, MCC, YCC as well as the OCC, CCC® and UTMB®. The UTMB® Mont-Blanc will take place from August 22 to 28, 2022 with registration opening as early as December.

To have a chance to register for UTMB, a runner must have accumulated 10 “points” between the start of 2018 and the end of 2020. To race TDS, a runner needs eight points; for CCC, six points; and for OCC, four points.

Running Stones expire after 4 years. Running Stones gained in 2020 can be traded for entry to a 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024 UTMB® Mont-Blanc race of their choice. If they are not used during those 4 years, they will expire unless they are exchanged for additional tickets.
